Greetings! We are half way through Italian Wine Month at Village Wines – and there are still more great wines to taste and fun to have!
The next 2 Friday Night tastings will again feature Italian varietals. Join us this Friday night as Denise Sullivan takes us on her tour of Italy. And finally on February 24, Charles Redmond will bring our Italian Friday Nights to a close. Both Denise and Charles have terrific wines (and different grapes – remember!) so make sure you come and taste and see which grapes you like.
In honor of Italian Wine Month – Chef Nick is making homemade Spagetti and Meatballs! Hand made pork and beef Italian meatballs, braised in robust marinara, nestled in fresh hand made spaghetti, and garnished with parmesan. How can this miss when paired with Italian Wines?! Yum! This dish will be available this Thursday (16th) through this Saturday (18th).
We will end our Italian Wine Month with a seminar on grapes grown in the Piedmont area of Italy on March1st. Dennis O’Brien of Cutting Edge will lead the seminar and educate us on these different varietals. We will taste the following:

And the fun continues this Saturday – February 18th. Join us for a Blind Tasting of Merlot and Cabernet. – Will you be able to differentiate? Test, develop or enhance your tasting skills by sampling 5 sets of Cabernet and Merlot – (from the same wineries) – from Napa, Sonoma, Washington State and Chile. The wines will be brown bagged for your analysis and enjoyment. This tasting is an Open House format beginning at 1 – but reservations are preferred. $20/person.
February 21 – Obsidian Ridge Tasting – Elise Fahr – National Sales Manager of Tricycle Wine Partners – will guide us through 4 wines:

Are you looking to enhance your kitchen skills in the New Year? We are offering a demonstration series aimed at bringing together enthusiastic foodies (and winos) for creative food presentations, preparation techniques and tasting! Each class offers an intimate opportunity to learn directly from Chef Nick as he prepares demo dishes that people can (and will!) make at home. ($5/person) BONUS – tasting is a must!! Our series begins on February 28th (6:30 – 7:30 pm) and will feature how to make mushroom ravioli. * Reservations Requested (771.6612) *
Piccolo has a dessert menu! Each month will feature a different dessert – this month is Strawberry Trifle – and coffee is on the menu also! (Served Thursday – Saturday)
Join us for Music Trivia at Piccolo on March 8th. We will offer a limited dinner menu from 6 to 8 pm. – with Music Trivia from 7 to 8 PM. As always, our trivia is fun, free, and very informal. Answers are shouted out, and the prize for winning is the adoration of your competitors!
