_grapevineGreetings!

I’m not sure that Spring will ever happen – but be sure that when it does – the patio will be open and ready!  Our patio heaters will take the chill off the evening! Perhaps this is the weekend??!!!  We can only hope!

Not sure if you knew this – but our own Chef Aimee was nominated as Best Chef in the “Best Of” in City Beat  – and Piccolo was also nominated as Best Wine Bar!  Kudos to our team – and thanks to you for all of your support.

We have a lot of things happening at Village Wines:

Need help deciphering the mysteries of German Reislings?? Join us on April 26th – for a tasting featuring Mary Horn of Heidelburg Distributing. Mary will guide us through the different German regions – and the various classifications of Rieslings.  We will also feature food pairings specific to each wine tasted.  Tasting starts at 7:00 and is $25.00 per person.  Please call the store at 771-6611 or email kate@villagewinesglendale.com for reservations.  You don’t want to miss this fun, entertaining (and educational too!!!) tasting!!!

Looking for a wine for Passover? We have them!  Call us to order yours.

Join us for a very unique and interesting tasting on Tuesday May 10th.  Laura Landoll of Grand Cru will be educating us on the nuances of wine and how it interacts with our palates.  More information to follow in the next Grapevine.

Mark your calendar for Friday May 20 – for Paella with Hector!  Join us as we feature terrific wines that pair with Paella at our Friday night tasting with Charles Redmond of Wine Trends.  More details to follow.

Everyone enjoyed the blind tasting so much on April Fool’s Day – that we are planning another one!  We are already thinking up new ways to stump you – watch the Grapevine for the date.

Our Crew Club continues to grow! Interested in trying new wines – but don’t know where to start?  Join our Crew Club – and let us doing the choosing!  We have 2 levels – call us to find out more.

We have several new wines in this month – including a great little Vinho Verde (perfect for the patio!), a new Barbara – Matteo Correggia Barbera d’Alba and Rupicolo – a blend (Montepulciano, Nero Di Troia and Cabernet) from Puglia Italy.  All delicious in different ways – you know we wouldn’t bring in anything awful!!! Come check them out!!!
