Chateau LeBon Pasteur Pomerol 2002

A wine from world renowned oenologist Michel Rolland – this wine is aged 16 months exclusively in new French Oak barrels.  Deep ruby/purple in color, with a nose of espresso roast intermixed with background oak, chocolate, and black cherries, the 2002 Le Bon Pasteur possesses a sweet attack, excellent texture, purity and ripeness as well as an elegant, finesse-filled finish.

The wines of Le Bon Pasteur are ripe, rich and powerful. They are filled with sweet fruit, soft tannins and usually, low in acid. Pomerol wines typically exhibit their best qualities after 10 years of aging.

This wine is drinking beautifully right now!  I was able to taste this at our recent Bordeaux tasting – a steal at $49.99!
