For more than a decade, the store has called village square home. Tucked away from the traffic and noise – except for the occasional train – Village Wines offers a quiet, welcoming setting where you can talk wine, learn about wine, taste wine, and of course buy wine. Our staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, and takes the time to understand your likes, dislikes and price point!  Whether you’re an experienced wine drinker, or just learning reds from whites – we’re here to help.

Our Staff.

Mark Rehrig’s wine career began in 1980 in Dayton, Ohio, at a gourmet store in the Arcade that had a wine department. Four years later, he began his wholesale career at a statewide finer wine distributor in the Cincinnati/Dayton markets. Thirty-one years and two other distributors later, retail is again the venue for his wine sales.

Mark has enjoyed several trips to France, California, Washington and Oregon wine growing regions with the most memorable one being a trip to Australia in 2000.

He became a Certified Specialist of Wine in 2008. This is a comprehensive test by the Certified Wine Educators.

He does not a have a ‘favorite wine’.  It’s usually the one in his glass at the moment!

We are indeed fortunate to have someone with Mark’s pedigree as part of our Village Wines’ team.

Mary Beth Meyers (MB) – AKA the “Wine Maven” has no formal wine credentials but brings an enormous passion and whimsy to the job.

MB came to Village Wines after a 30+-year career as a research scientist at Procter and Gamble. MB’s love for wine, science and humor has been helpful in demystifying what can at times, be an intimidating experience for some customers.

MB has traveled several times to wine country, and has found a special allure to the Pacific Northwest and the viniculture that exists there.

“There should be no rules, only drink what you like and keep exploring the world of wine!”

Kate Eberlein’s “wine career” began in Napa Valley in 1980, when a friend was married in the old Christian Brothers Winery and she has never looked back! What truly began as a hobby has grown into a love for all different kinds of wines.

Kate enjoys learning new and interesting facts about wines – and likes to look at ‘wine region’ maps to gain a better understanding of the grape, the terrior, and the history of the wine.

Feeling that wine makes the food and vice versa, Kate enjoys the experience of pairing wine with small plates or full menus for a complete experience.
